Benefits of Baby Swimming
After spending approximately 9 months in a watery environment babies are born with a natural affinity for water. Therefore being in the water provides a familiar, comforting environment anytime from birth onwards [it is not necessary to wait until after they have had their injections].
Baby swimming lessons provide an environment with a qualified instructor which help you build the foundations with your baby that mean they will be a confident swimmer as they get older and most importantly will be naturally safe in the water.
The benefits of baby swimming lessons are extensive; some of which include:
- Helps develop the heart, lungs and respiratory system; which helps with brain development.
- Helps develop core muscles and co-ordination earlier than they would be able to with land based activities.
- Babies sleep patterns can be improved; meaning more natural, deep sleep.
- Gentle exercise in warm water can stimulate a babies appetite and improve eating patterns.
- Improvements in two-way communication at an earlier stage in babies development.
- Helps to further develop the bond between parent and baby.
- Provides a social environment for both parents and babies.
We follow the STA STARFISH Series which has been developed over many years and has evolved with the work of experts using latest research techniques.
Our baby swimming lessons are baby led with small class sizes; this means that our classes can adapt to the individual needs of the babies and parents.
